The video technology firm JW Player will roll out an over-the-top video apps product at the NAB Show in Las Vegas next week.
The offering will
allow clients to quickly create and launch customized OTT apps for connected TV devices and mobile devices. At launch, the apps will be compatible with Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Android
devices.
The apps will include cross-platform reporting, monetization options and audience engagement tools.
With connected TV and OTT usage on the rise, the need to
have dedicated apps on those platforms is even more significant.
While large streaming services have created their own apps, many publishers and video companies cannot do so as quickly
or as easily.
JW Player’s solution lets those companies create apps that carry the branding of the content company, built on the tech infrastructure of the video firm, to the end
user.
