Signal AI Acquires KELP In Reputation Management Deal

The corporate reputation sector saw some consolidation this week, as Signal AI, which bills itself as a global external intelligence company, acquired KELP Inc., a reputation platform. Terms were not disclosed.

The purchase brings together Signal’s External Intelligence Graph, which uses AI technology to help brands view the events that are affecting them, and KELP’s data analytics platform, a tool that delivers industry reputation insights and benchmarks hundreds of companies, the firms say.

KELP helps firms determine what drives positive reputation in industries like Healthcare & Life Sciences and Aerospace & Defense, the firm says.

The KELP team, including co-founders Dan Gaynor and Shann Biglione, will join Signal AI as full-time employees.

Gaynor has served in global communications at Nike and as an appointee in the Obama Administration. Gaynor also founded Weber Shandwick’s analytics practice and its narrative strategy.

Biglione was former head of strategy at Publicis Media, working for brands like GSK, Walt Disney Studios and Verizon.

“I’m incredibly excited to join forces with KELP, because 85% of business leaders say that reputation is a higher priority than margin in the decision-making process,” states David Benigson, CEO of Signal AI.
