States Newsroom Launches Email Daily On Reproductive Rights

States Newsroom, a network of nonprofit news outlets, has launched Reproductive Rights Today, a daily email newsletter to help readers keep track of the shifting issue across the U.S.

The newsletter will be authored by Mel Leonor Barclay, most recently a statehouse reporter in Virginia for the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

“Since Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court in June, we have seen states move quickly to pass new laws, or interpret what their old laws mean in this new context,” states Chris Fitzsimon, director and publisher of States Newsroom. “With consequential actions and events happening each day on this front, it can be difficult for readers to keep up.” The enewsletter seeks to "tell the important stories coming out of states across the country in post-Roe America," she adds.

States Newsroom is funded by contributions from readers and philanthropists. Last year, it announced plans to have independent local newsrooms in roughly 40 states.
