iSpot Hires Former Inscape And Samsung Ads Exec Jodie McAfee

Looking to ramp up even more new TV currency connections with TV networks and streaming platforms, iSpot.tv has hired former Inscape and Samsung Ads executive Jodie McAfee, as senior vice president of agency partnerships.

In addition to making connections with media agencies for new currencies, McAfee will work with streaming publishers on everything from alternative ratings to streaming “verification.”

McAfee is part of iSpot.tv's recent hiring push of some 100 people this year. He will work directly with iSpot's 750 brand customers.

NBCUniversal gave iSpot.tv a big boost in March this year naming the TV measurement company as national "currency contender" for audience measurement for its future cross-platform ad selling efforts under its forthcoming One Platform.

In addition, for this year's upfront TV advertising selling market, NBCU named iSpot.tv as cross-platform "currency" partner for marketers for the 2022-2021 TV season.

NBCU and other TV networks have been pursuing new currencies as alternatives to Nielsen --- especially when it comes to cross-media measurement.

iSpot.tv is also involved in other testing efforts with TV-based media companies. In April of this year, it announced a $325 million investment from Goldman Sachs.

McAfee was key in starting up Project OAR ( Open Addressable Ready)  the industry consortium effort to pursue addressable TV advertising standards. While at Vizio’s Inscape group, McAfee oversaw integration of VIZIO’s Inscape ACR (Automatic Content Recognition) data into the TV marketplace.

He also had senior-level positions at Samsung Ads and the Hallmark Channel.
