How This Taste Of Koko Founder Is Influencing The Marketing World

A Taste of Koko's Jane Ko talks about her growing season, finding time for "funsies," and the next wave.

I've had the opportunity to connect with and learn from executives of major brands at MediaPost's Insider Summits. In the process I've discovered some truly impressive women -- not only for the work they do, but their stories behind the scenes. With Brand Insider: BTS, I get to pull back the curtain on some of the most influential women marketers as they talk about their path to success: the twists and turns, obstacles, inspirations and the valuable lessons learned along the way.

With no grand plan in mind, A Taste of Koko’s founder, Jane Ko, admits that her journey as an influencer all started simply by reading some inspirational blogs and a Google search on building a website. Growing up in a small town in Austin, TX, the Taiwan born content creator talks about her sheltered upbringing and being constantly told “you can’t do it.” But she did! In this episode of Brand Insider: BTS, the self-proclaimed introvert says diving into social media helped give her the confidence to find her voice. Now, as a successful food and lifestyle blogger, Jane reflects on the challenges of today’s social media landscape, the blurred lines between work and life, and the somewhat surprising realities behind the scenes of a social media influencer. You can watch the entire conversation above.
