Soon Papa Johns may be able to predict what consumers want before they even place their order.
Papa Johns and Google Cloud have entered into a multiyear partnership aiming to “revolutionize the pizza maker's ordering and delivery experience using the power of artificial intelligence.”
Per the brand, the partnership will give the chain the ability to anticipate customer needs through using Google BigQuery, Vertex AI, and Gemini, thus resulting in “proactively suggesting orders through push notifications or email.” The chain also plans hyper-personalized loyalty experiences that will leverage Google's generative AI models against Papa Johns’ data to improve loyalty program rewards and benefits.
Predictive ordering and personalized marketing will be used to provide relevant promotions and ordering shortcuts, and customer interactions will be AI-powered, using a chatbot for common questions and escalating more complex issues to live agents.

Restaurant operations will also be optimized though a Google Cloud-based point-of-sale system, which will “lay the foundation for AI-driven dispatching, route optimization, and intelligent automation of key restaurant processes.”
The brand expects the partnership will help Papa Johns generate more and higher value orders, reduce customer service costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
"Our partnership with Google Cloud will enable us to take personalization to the next level. We're not just reacting to orders -- we're anticipating our customers' needs and proactively providing tailored recommendations and offers. This isn't just about convenience; it's about creating a truly joyful and personalized pizza experience that builds lasting loyalty," said Todd Penegor, president and CEO of Papa Johns, in the announcement
