Microsoft has made OpenAI Sora available through its Bing Video Creator for free on the Bing mobile app for Apple iOS and Google Android.
Powered by Sora, Bing Video Creator changes text prompts into short videos by describing an image. The AI platform creates the vision, but the feature is not yet available on desktop.
“Two years ago, Bing was the first product to ship image creation for free for our users,” Jordi Ribas, Microsoft vice president and head of search, wrote on X, adding: “Today, I’m excited to share that Bing Video Creator is now available in the Bing mobile app, everywhere that Bing Image Creator is available worldwide.”
Bing Video Creator with Sora is the latest in a series of AI-driven offerings from Microsoft, following the release of Bing Image Creator and Copilot.
Videos are 5 seconds in length. Microsoft said the videos can be created in 9:16 format, with 16:9 format coming soon. Creators can queue up to three video generations at a time. If all three slots are in use, the user will need to wait for one to finish before starting another.

Creators will get a notification when videos have finished processing.
Users can download, share via email or on social-media platforms, and copy and share through a direct link to the video, which are stored for up to 90 days.
The feature is not available, yet in Microsoft's Copilot AI tool -- which powers many of the AI features in Bing.
Each user is allowed ten “Fast” video generations, which can create videos in seconds.
Users then can continue with Standard speeds to generate the content, which takes minutes, at no cost, or redeem 100 Microsoft Rewards points for each additional Fast creation.
