Levy: Publicis Racks Up $2 Bil In New Biz, Eyes Future Acquisitions

Publicis has picked up nearly $2 billion in billings from new business during the first month of 2007, and the Paris-based agency holding company may be eying more acquisitions, Chairman-CEO Maurice Levy said in an interview with French newspaper La Tribune. Big account wins have included Wal-Mart, Renault, and 20th Century Fox. Noting that Publicis was able to acquire interactive agency holding company Digitas fro $1.3 billion in cash, Levy said it could have been made as a stock deal, and implied that it could be used to leverage future acquisitions.
