Khloe Kardashian is starring in a new campaign for Nurtec ODT to treat and prevent migraine headaches.
According to Fierce Pharma, a new TV spot shows Kardashian working on her fashion line, “presumably after finding relief from her migraines with Nurtec."
Kardashian had starred in a previous Nurtec ad promoting the drug’s migraine-healing properties.
The previous ad had shown Kardashian eating popcorn and snuggling with her daughter, True, but the new one shows her confidently living her life.
"We wanted to show her confidence, her ability to be successful and live her life despite her migraine, and tell that story of empowerment,” Biohaven CEO Vlad Coric told Fierce Pharma.
Kardashian became the brand’s spokeswoman after Nurtec’s launch in March 2020.
In the new spot, she details her struggle with migraines. “There’s nothing glamorous about migraines,” she says. She adds that “with quick-dissolving Nurtec, I can get back to work fast, and prevent my next attack.”
The ad campaign comes as Biohaven prepares to turn its migraine franchise over to Pfizer in an $11.6 billion deal set to close by early 2023.
Kardashian’s struggle with migraines was depicted in the show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." Coric told MM+M that he saw an episode where she was “quite debilitated” by it.
He added: "We thought she could benefit from Nurtec, so we got her doctor some samples and she eventually tried it and had a great response. After having such a great response, we engaged her about how she could help us. She has a powerful voice and could help us explain how she responded and help educate folks about migraine and the disabling effects of it."”
