PopSugar Collects Abortion Stories From All 50 States

Media site PopSugar has collected the abortion stories of 50 women across the U.S. and packaged them in a feature titled, “50 States, 50 Abortions.”

The package features interviews on the reality of making this deeply personal decision. told in  storytellers' own voices with accompanying audio,

"Abortion has become politicized, but on a personal level, it’s typically not a political act,” PopSugar notes. However, people quickly run into restrictive bans when they begin seeking care, it adds. 

The interview subjects include an Oklahoman who learned she was pregnant weeks after the state banned abortions. Another is a parent in Pennsylvania who knew she couldn’t provide for her existing family if she had an additional child. 

In addition, a New Mexico, woman simply didn’t want to be pregnant. And a South Dakota, a mother shared that she wouldn’t be able to realize her career goals if she added to her family.

A tagline notes “The message: you’re not alone.”
