MAD's Most-Read Stories Of 2025: Campaigns, Accounts & M&A

News about breaking ad campaigns, account wins, and M&A activity dominated the most-read rankings of Media Post Agency Daily stories in 2025.

The most-read story of the year was about an ad campaign created by agency GSD&M to promote Southwest Airlines' new policy assigning seats with bookings, called “Are You Sitting Down?”

Other widely read campaign related stories included a piece about a MullenLowe effort for Navy Federal Credit Union called “Family Ties” that reminded people that family members of service personnel could inherit membership eligibility.

A Nike World Cup campaign from Wieden + Kennedy London called “Scary Good” was also among the top-15-read stories.

On the account front, a report about CI&T winning Volkswagen Of America’s digital AOR remit was the most-read new business win story.

Several Publicis Media wins (KenvueTJX) along with Horizon Media’s new Charter/Spectrum assignment also scored high in readership.

On the M&A front a story about the “golden parachutes” awarded to several Interpublic executives related to the company’s acquisition by Omnicom was widely read.

Empower Media’s merger with Ocean Media also scored high in readership.

While not technically a merger or acquisition, a report on the Horizon-Havas joint venture to do business together also generated large readership and prompted speculation—dismissed by the parties--about a potential future merger.
