    Mobile advertising company InMobi on Tuesday announced the acquisition of Overlay Media, a U.K.-based startup focused on context aware mobile technology.   • Facebook Feature Lets Brands Create New Posts In Ad Tool
    Facebook has added a feature that lets brands create new page posts directly from its self-serve ad tool. According to Inside Facebook, advertisers now have the option to create a new page post from the ad dashboard when selecting “promote page posts.” Before, users could only to choose have prior posts or its latest posts automatically promoted. With the change, brands can post a status or photo update to their page without having to leave the ad tool.     Former Yahoo and Thrillist executive Adam Chandler has joined mobile ad network Jumptap as senior vice president for sales, overseeing brand sales and reporting to COO Frank Weishaupt. He will be based in Jumptap’s New York office. Chandler most recently served as executive-in-residence at venture capital firm Lerer Ventures. Previously, he spent eight years at Yahoo in various positions including leading the company U.S. Hispanic ad division, and managing Yahoo U.S. revenue and advertising display partnerships.     The U.S. may be the world’s largest mobile ad market, but the U.K. is tops when it comes to the amount spent per mobile Web user, according to new data from eMarketer. A close second to the U.K. was Norway, at $35.71, followed by the U.S., at $31.50. Last month, eMarketer raised its estimate for U.S. mobile ad revenue in 2012 to $4 billion from $2.6 billion.     U.S. online holiday sales rose 14% to $42.3 billion from a year ago, according to new data from comScore, falling short of the firm’s projection of 16% e-commerce growth for the November-December period.     Stepping up its social TV efforts, CBS has launched the CBS Connect app for the iPad. The free new app is a tablet extension of the “Connect” social media hub the network launched online last May, aggregating Facebook and Twitter conversations related to its programming across all dayparts.
