1-800-Flowers.com Gifting Program Generates Leads

1-800-Flowers.com has lunched a gifting website and platform giving companies a tool to gift products for special programs and virtual events. The goal is to support the shift to remote work as more organizations adopt hybrid policies.

The platform ties into the company’s family of brands such as Harry & David, PersonalizationMall.com, Cheryl’s Cookies, and Wolferman’s Bakery. Users of the platform must sign up to create a profile and provide information such as name and phone number, generating future leads for retargeting and remarketing.

Earlier this year, the company launched a consumer platform. Now it seems it has extended the option to companies of all sizes.

The program was developed and operated through SmartGift, an ecommerce firm that enables recipients of the gift to select product preferences.

For example, when a business holds a virtual event the business can send meeting participants through a website link a gift to enjoy during or as a follow up to conferences, and workshops.

The service provides the option to send gifts to attendees of virtual or in-person events through a link on Microsoft Teams, Google Meets, Zoom, and other virtual platforms.

Companies also can use Hero to automate recognition programs such as birthdays, and work anniversaries. There’s no need to know the physical address to place a gift order because it is gifted through email. The person accepts the email and enters their address.

The program also provides the ability to track campaigns, measure success, and provide recommendations for future events. Engagement metrics allow users to see who has been sent a gift, who accepted, what they accepted through one dashboard.
