How This Sprinkles' CMO Finds Her Joy

Sprinkles' Michelle Wong talks her need to be present, pursue satisfaction, and her jam.

I've had the opportunity to connect with and learn from executives of major brands at MediaPost's Insider Summits. In the process I've discovered some truly impressive women -- not only for the work they do, but their stories behind the scenes. With Brand Insider: BTS, I get to pull back the curtain on some of the most influential women marketers as they talk about their path to success: the twists and turns, obstacles, inspirations and the valuable lessons learned along the way.

“There isn't this separation between personal life and work life, especially if you love what you do. They're incredibly integrated, but part of the reason for that is because who you are as an individual carries into the work that you do professionally…because all of that is gonna affect your point of view, your perspective, especially as a creative, like what are you bringing to the table?” Some life perspectives Michelle Wong brings to the table is the precision of a pastry chef and the preparedness and improvisational agility of an actor. Careers the self-described disruptor held briefly before turning to advertising. It was that drive for new challenges and opportunities that ultimately led to her position as Sprinkles’ CMO. In this episode of Brand Insider: BTS, Michelle says she believes bringing together people with diverse life experiences at work creates magic, and, rather than following a cookie-cutter path, she advises those starting out to be curious, travel, and live life. Michelle also talks about her love for cooking, dancing, and singing, though admits she doesn’t do one very well. Can you guess which one? You can watch the entire conversation here:
