New HBO drama "The Newsroom" --- coming from Aaron Sorkin of "West Wing" and "Social Network" fame -- started off decently, with some 2.1 million viewers on Sunday. All that is a pretty good number for debuting on a pay TV service that only gets into around 30% of all U.S TV homes. Previous big HBO dramas started out around the same or lower levels-- "Games of Thrones" in 2011 hit 2.2 million, "True Blood" took in 1.4 million in 2008; and "Luck", which started up earlier this year, had a 1.1 million number. Still, HBO's more successful current dramas …

YouTube pushed ahead of MSN/Windows Live in May to become the fourth-ranked Web property, with 127.5 million unique monthly visitors, according to the latest
Nielsen data. That gives Google, which again had the largest online audience last month, at 173 million, two of the four top sites. Sandwiched in between were Facebook (152 million) and Yahoo (143 million). Younger consumers are the most likely to have already gotten 4G phones, and 63% of teens are likely to consider switching in the next year. A slow moving summer TV news cycle, coupled by some legal proceeding that didn't go CBS way, have given us some faux press release fodder. This show will feature -- what else? -- "moderately famous and sort of well-known people you almost recognize competing for big prizes by dancing on the graves of some of Hollywood’s most iconic …
