• Marketo Files S-1 For IPO
    The software automation space continues to grow. Marketo announced plans to file a $75 million initial public offering (IPO) to build out its marketing software platform. The company raised $108 million in total, the latest round about $50 million led by Battery Ventures. Marketo will trade under the ticker "MKTO" on the Nasdaq. Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Credit Suisse are listed as leads for the offering. In a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commissions filing, the company reports generating revenue of $14 million, $32.4 million and $58.4 million in 2010, 2011 and 2012, respectively, representing year-over-year increases of 131% and …
  • Expedia's DeBraccio Joins Sonobi
    Paul DeBraccio has joined Sonobi, and SSP (sales side platform), as vice president-national sales, and Dennis Martin has joined as vice president-global sales and business development. DeBraccio most recently was director of ad sales media solutions at Expedia. Martin was vice president-sales operations at Highwinds.
  • Pandora Leads Among Younger Listeners
    Online radio services such as Pandora are gaining ground among younger users, according to new data from NPD Group. Subscription-based and free streaming music services drew nearly a quarter (23%) of average weekly music listening time among listeners between 13 and 35 in the fourth quarter, up from 17% a year ago. That’s nearly the same as the share listening to AM/FM radio, which fell two percentage points to 24%.   • Collective Bias Raises $10.5 Million
    Social shopper marketing company Collective Bias on Tuesday announced raising $10.5 million in a first-round funding led by Updata Partners. The Bentonville, Ark.-based company said it would use the new financing to enhance its technology platform and further expand internationally. Started in 2009, Collective Bias is built around the idea social marketing will supplant traditional retail marketing vehicles like free-standing inserts and circulars. Its Social Fabric platform is private community of 1,400 shopping-focused bloggers that clients use to gain consumer insights and identify brand advocates to create content for campaigns.
