The Brandtech Group announced Thursday a collaboration to integrate Google’s video-generation model Veo 2 into its generative AI (GAI) marketing platform, Pencil.
David Jones, Brandtech’s founder and CEO, described 2025 as “the year of exponential scaling" for GAI,” emphasizing the transformative impact of Veo 2.
“We’re witnessing a seismic shift in what’s possible for brands," he stated. "By integrating Veo 2, we are providing our clients with the most advanced video generation tool available."
Rebecca Sykes, Brandtech Group Partner and head of emerging tech, believes text-to-video will completely change the industry with the ability to make GAI-based TV commercials for clients through Veo 2.
The integration of Veo 2 into Pencil Pro allows brands to access Google’s models — including Gemini for text generation, Imagen 3 for image creation, and Google Cloud’s ABCD framework for asset analysis — within one interface.

Powered by Google Cloud, the suite of tools enables marketers to generate and deploy high-quality, AI-driven content.
Google marketing teams trialled Pencil in more than 50 unique pilot projects. From nearly 80,000 generations, about 25,000 final assets were produced.
The ads delivered reductions in time and costs of between 20% and 30% for high-end creative executions, and between 80% and 90% savings for mass-scale executions.

Japan Airlines (JAL) relies on the partnership by deploying Google’s Veo 2 and Gemini models to improve on its passenger experience. Select flights in 2025 will feature evocative, AI-generated films designed to inspire travelers with visuals of Japanese destinations.
Brandtech's Jellyfish created the marketing initiative for Japan Airlines.
Seatback monitors in the project explore destinations to inspire travel as generative AI brings a future itinerary to life. The initiative was made possible by the exceptional realism, detail, and control offered by Veo 2, which creates high-quality video from text and image prompts.
Gemini with Google Cloud were used to script and curate the content. The entire creative process — from concept to final production — was completed in less than 15 hours by a hybrid team from Brandtech group companies Jellyfish and Pencil.
Aside to integrating Veo 2, Brandtech and its group company Jellyfish will make Pencil Pro available in Google Cloud’s Marketplace, allowing Google’s clients and partners to access its capabilities.
