defeated Mexico at a score of 3-2 is the most-watched linear TV Spanish-language soccer telecast ever, with 23.1 million viewers on NBCUniversal’s streamer Peacock and linear TV network
Telemundo.
Telemundo took in 9.4 million and Peacock, 13.0 million, according to preliminary Nielsen results and Adobe Analytics. NBCUniversal says its total of 23.1
million average viewers was Total Audience Delivery.
The round of 16 games was seen live in Mexico at its famed Estadio Azteca stadium, with intense play at the end of the match,
including England defending nonstop attacks by Mexico, with only 10 players due to a red card for over 30 minutes.
Separately, Fox Corp. updated results from the U.S. men’s
team win over Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 1. This is an increase in final Nielsen results to an average 26.4 million viewers, and up from the preliminary figure of 24.4 million viewers released
late last week.

For that game, Telemundo also took 9.8 million viewers for its Spanish-language airing -- bringing the U.S. team’s round-of-32 victory game viewership to
a total of 36.2 million viewers.
National TV advertising spend from June 11 to July 6 totals $227.8 million on Fox TV platforms, and $258.2 million on Telemundo, according to
iSpot.tv estimates.
