Amazon Expands Location-Based Interactive Video Ads

Amazon expanded its location-based video ads into three new locations in the Americas, as sales in its Amazon Business sector continue to rise.

The ability to customize ads have been added for store locations, local offers, and clickthrough URLs based on state or province and postal code in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.

The format initially launched in the U.S. in October 2025.

This expansion of its video advertising media is a strategic upgrade for cross-border advertisers because it solves the expensive and time-consuming problem of running TV ads that appeal to a local audience. Sometimes those companies are based nationally.

Advertisers can reduce the manual effort of creating separate campaigns for different regions that will aid in improving performance and lowering production costs.

Automotive brands, fast-food franchises, or insurance providers can make one ad buy, but rather than running a generic ad, the viewer in Toronto sees a Canadian ad, while a viewer in Sao Paulo sees a local storefront address.

There are restrictions, but the change applies to nearly all Managed Service and Self-Service advertisers.

The exception is those who block demographic signals in the ads console. Users who check this box can only use Amazon audiences that lack age, gender, or other demographic data, the company wrote in a blog post.

This specific checkbox only works if an advertiser runs first-party Amazon Studios (1PAS) video creative, which are advertisements hosted, delivered and tracked by Amazon's ad servers and served on Prime Video and other proprietary Amazon Studios content.

Amazon is expected to report on second-quarter earnings for 2026 on July 30, 2026, following the close of the market.

Analysts anticipate a profit of $1.82 per share and revenue between $194 billion and $199 billion with a focus on AI-related revenue growth, and spending on AI infrastructure.

Video ad creation in a variety of countries is not the only sector that is expanding.

The company announced Tuesday that more than 1.8 million new organizations have joined Amazon Business this year.

Its business sector rose nearly 30% globally this year, with expansion in categories including repair tools, fresh groceries, and office furniture.
