SpaceXAI engineers are working with Augeo to integrate Grok’s real-time AI reasoning technology and X's live sentiment data into the Minnesota-based loyalty platform.
The goal is to
help brands create personalized offers and increase redemptions, as well as solve a major problem with loyalty programs, David Kristal, CEO of Augeo, told MediaPost.
"People forget to use them
and leave rewards unredeemed," he said, adding that it's a "huge" global problem. "Loyalty programs are declining in impact, despite representing billions of dollars in annual spend."
About
92% of online adults in the U.S. belong to at least one loyalty program, according to Ernst & Young, and Forrester Research, which have consistently cited this percentage for the past years.
Roughly $10 billion in loyalty rewards goes unredeemed in the United States each year, according to the Antavo 2026 Global Customer Loyalty Report, which surveyed more than 3,000 corporate
marketers and 10,000 consumers worldwide to evaluate the financial landscape of rewards programs.

Through the collaboration with SpaceXAI, Kristal said, Augeo's engineers have been learning
firsthand how to optimize the models to support its brands and clients.
Augeo, founded in 1999 by Kristal, was based on a need to support his family's business, Embers Restaurants.
The company advances the vision for one unified approach to loyalty services through its “Loyalty Media Network” that launched today. The network reaches into every channel, from
employees to consumers, rather than running siloed programs, and combines the data.
Trusted Human Engagement Orchestrator (THEO) is the intelligence layer that unifies data, decisioning and
delivery. With Grok’s real-time reasoning and X’s live sentiment data, THEO understands individuals in real time and acts within the channels and systems enterprises already use.
Augeo is estimated to have recently surpassed $500 million in annual recurring revenue, according to a 2026 corporate milestone post shared on LinkedIn, began as a buying program for independent restaurants to compete against national chains, but changed into a
platform-based loyalty solution for the hospitality industry.
Loyalty programs from enterprises to customer like bank and airlines and vendor-related programs in retail media are all siloes.
Kristal wants to connect them all, and believes it can be done through agentic or AI agents.
"Loyalty currencies and offers come to more than $3 trillion in spend annually," Kristal
said. "To personalize the loyalty commerce experience in real time has never been done before," but Augeo plans to do it all based on permission from users.
Augeo owns decades of
priority engagement and experience data that agents cannot crawl.

Kristal said Augeo is also trusted by more than 100 Fortune 500 companies, which is important in loyalty.
