Mobile cause marketer Rights Group teamed up with service provider SinglePoint to get out the vote in last November’s elections. Rights Group helped sign up subscribers, enlarge constituent bases, and deliver calls to action.

For example, people could respond to outdoor and print ads asking them to participate in Working Assets’ get-out-the-vote program by texting “protect” to a five-digit SMS number. They provided their zip codes and phone numbers so that when Working Assets got word of issues on Election Day, it could send a return SMS message.

Rights Group CEO Jed Alpert, who once did mobile marketing for Britney Spears, says, “If you give people a very efficient way to get their voice heard, they will use it like crazy.”
