CouponFollow And Its Email List Acquired By System1 For $115 Million

Customer acquisition platform System1 has acquired NextGen Shopping, Inc.’s CouponFollow, a coupon destination for online shoppers, for up to $115 million in cash and stock, depending on performance.

The purchase accelerates System1’s e-commerce efforts and adds a suite of shopping-related products to System1’s lines, the company says.

CouponFollow has millions of subscribers to its email newsletter and works with over 5,000 brand partners, System1 says.

System1 sees “a tremendous opportunity to leverage our RAMP customer acquisition platform to further scale CouponFollow’s business,” states Michael Blend, co-founder and CEO of System1.

CouponFollow’s team, primarily based in New York, will join System1 and Marc Mezzacca, founder and CEO of NextGen Shopping, will come on board as part of System1’s executive leadership team.

The stock consideration in the deal was issued in a price placement to NextGen Shopping, the company says.

Methuselah Advisors served as financial advisor to CouponFollow.
