Outfront, Titan Renew 2 Big City Transit Contracts

Two big transit advertising contracts were renewed this week, as Outfront Media inked a new five-year deal with Miami-Dade Transit, and Titan extended its relationship with the Metro Transit system serving Minneapolis-St. Paul with a new contract, also lasting five years. Both contracts include optional extensions.

Under the terms of its deal with Miami-Dade Transit, Outfront Media (formerly CBS Outdoor) will provide advertising services to Florida’s largest public transit system for five years, with two optional five-year extensions, including rail and bus vehicles, station, and the MDT’s downtown Metromover.

Outfront has agreed to pay MDT at least $17.25 million over the term of the agreement.

Among other services, Outfront plans to install its new digital platform to ads to digital displays throughout the MDT system, with testing due to begin later this year. The new platform, announced in late 2014, combines addressable displays with programmatic capabilities and cloud distribution.

Also this week, Titan announced that it has signed a new five-year contract giving it advertising rights on all Metro Transit trains, light rail and buses serving the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The contract includes two optional one-year extensions. Titan has promised to generate at least $23.45 million in revenue for Metro Transit over the fiver-year period. Titan is installing digital platform and shelter displays throughout the Metro Transit system.

Last September, Titan announced that it had signed a new 10-year contract with Sound Transit, which serves the central Puget Sound area with buses, light rail lines and commuter rail services connecting Seattle, Everett, Tacoma and Bellevue, along with a number of other towns and neighborhoods across King, Pierce and Snohomish counties.
