Following Pinterest's recent commitment to utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS) to power its
future AI visual search functionality, the social discovery platform has announced that it will now allow creators to connect their Amazon Storefronts directly to their Pinterest accounts.
Amazon Storefront linking is designed to drive more creators to Pinterest, ultimately providing them with a new platform on which to promote products featured in their original content.
By
automatically applying the creator’s Amazon affiliate link to any eligible Amazon product they tag, creators make a portion of the profit.
Creators will also see their Amazon Storefront
featured on their Pinterest profile, offering users a chance to purposefully discover products a specific creator personally recommends.

Pinterest has long promoted its user base -- about 630
million monthly actives -- as a group that searches with intent and purpose. According to the company, over 50% of users come to Pinterest to shop, producing over 80 billion monthly searches.
To capitalize its active shopping-minded audience, Pinterest has invested heavily in its AI-powered Performance+ ad suite, which has ultimately helped attract advertisers to the platform, while
driving user engagement and bringing in more revenue.
In addition,
Pinterest's “Taste Graph” – a multimodal AI structure trained on billions of images, videos, and text – automatically pairs users with content based on their interests, while
improving cost per acquisition by 10% for the majority of advertisers and driving 30% of the company’s lower-funnel revenue.
To expand its reputation as a shopping destination, Pinterest
forged a multi-year ads partnership with Amazon in 2023, then signed a similar ad deal with Google the next year.
Last week Pinterest also committed $4 billion to AWS through 2031, stating
that it would use Amazon's custom silicon semiconductor chips to power its AI roadmap, providing more responsive search and shopping experiences, and enhancing the company's visual search discovery
platform.
For creators, storefront linking will soon extend beyond Amazon Storefronts, according the Pinterest.
