Ocean State Media, Rhode Island’s PBS has acquired WVEI (FM) from Audacy, Radio World reports. The merger entailed moving the FM station to PBS studios and enhancing that facility. The FM signal now covers the entire state. In 2023, Rhode Island PBS and the Public’s Radio were merged, and rebranded as Ocean State Media in 2025.

Salad chain Sweetgreen has named Wpromote as its paid media agency of record, Marketing Dive reports. The brand recently hired Zipporah Allen as chief commercial officer. Allen, who worked with Wpromote while at Strava, seeks to move Sweetgreen’s strategy in a period of slumping sales.

Pinterest is forecasting lower-than-expected Q1 revenue as it faces competition from TikTok and Meta, and its shares have fallen, Reuters reports. The company is working on AI strategies to attract advertisers, and hopes to attract clients with its AI-powered Performance+ ad suite.

A proposed Colorado bill would force social media and dating sites to comply with judicial warrants. The bipartisan bill would give these sites eight hours to confirm receipt of a judicial warrant, and 72 hours to comply, CBS News reports. Parents testified that it sometimes takes weeks or even months to get a response.

Ryan Media, a subsidiary of OneRyan Global LLC, is acquiring the media properties of KBest Media. These include the stations KBST-FM, KBTS and KBST. Also part of the deal is translator K280GW at 103.9 FM, which simulcasts KBST-AM, Inside Radio writes.

Levisohn has been with Barrons, which is enjoying strong investor interest as the markets rise, for 15 years, previously serving as managing editor. He started his career as a Wall Street equities trader, then switched to journalism and has also served at Business Week and Bloomberg,
Deseret News
A Utah state Senate bill introduced on Tuesday would impose a 4.7% sales tax on online ad revenue generated by tech giants like Facebook and Google, the Deseret News reports. Modeled after similar legislation in Maryland, it would affect companies that derive at least $1 million from targeted advertising in the state. It also would impact those that pull in at least $100 million from targeted advertising and depend on it for at least 50% of their annual revenue.
