• Amazon's Echo Show Leads Apple's HomePod
Despite Apple's ability to turn phones into gold, its foray into the smart speaker market dominated by Amazon is facing much more of an uphill climb. Apple's Siri-controlled HomePod, recently announced and expected to begin selling in December, isn't generating the excitement that often surrounds Apple product launches, according to a new study. Apple isn't alone launching new smart speaker products. • Honda Intros Streaming Epix Movies in Connected Minivans
The idea of autonomous or self-driving cars tends to cause some controversy, especially from those who want to keep their own hands on the wheel and want to remain in control of the driving experience. However, the connectedness in connected cars may, at least initially, be aimed at serving and entertaining passengers in those cars. MGM's Epix just announced that its streaming video app will be integrated into the back seats of Honda's 2018 minivan.

  • 85% Will Get More Connected, 15% Will Disconnect, Says Pew Study

  • Connecting With Consumers Through Future Technologies
Back in July 2015, I wrote about how the Internet of Things was about connections, in kicking off the first edition of the MediaPost IoT Daily. The journey continues today, with the official inclusion of additional relevant and future technologies, as the IoT Daily broadens to become the AI & IoT Daily.
