On the same day AstraZeneca avoided a Food and Drug Administration ban on Crestor, the pharmaceutical company received a warning letter from the agency asking that it cease advertising on the cholesterol-fighting drug because it has made "false or misleading claims regarding the superiority of Crestor" in a series of direct-to-consumer ads.

Grammy-winning singer and shampoo pitchwoman Ashanti has no problem mixing pop music with product placement. In the video for her single, Only U, the performer is seen in the shower while Herbal Essences hair products are prominently displayed behind her. Change the channel and you might find a Herbal Essences commercial that features Ashanti's song.
