Though CBS just announced it was joining Hulu's new subscription-only service in Japan, its embrace of Hulu is still tentative, writes Brian Steinberg. CBS is only turning over certain older content for use, as part of "the practice of 'windowing,' or making very specific deals for the distribution of select types of content based on the content's position in its life cycle."

The Chicago Tribune is changing its format again for single-copy sales, from tabloid size back to the traditional larger broadsheet form. The newspaper recently added 44 news pages a week to its daily print product, and felt those pages were "best displayed in the larger page afforded by the broadsheet format," according to a company statement.
