Beaconing Extended to Outdoor Advertising

Adshel is rolling out more than 3000 beacons across its national out-of-home advertising network in a bid to bring stronger customer targeting and data capabilities to the outdoor advertising space. The company said the beacons will initially be used as ‘listen and learn’ devices to build insights on consumers, as well as for advertisers. Longer term, Adshel hopes the technology will allow advertisers to leverage their existing customer databases to send geo-targeted and contextually relevant messages to customers standing within the vicinity of an enabled Adshel panel.

    This is some great news. Thanks for sharing. I'm sure these beacon-enabled OOH panels will be a great hit among retail brands as it provides brands with deeper insights on their customer base, thus allowing them to match the target audience with the right message at the right place, at the right time. Another main reason for the huge buzz around this in-store approach is that it allows consumers to make informed buying decisions without ever having to use their phone.
