MarketWatch.com Launches Streaming Market Data for Portable Devices

CBS MarketWatch announced on Tuesday the launch of CBS MarketWatch LIVE, an online streaming, real-time news and market data product that is also compatible with portable handheld devices. The new product will be powered by eSignal, a division of Interactive Data Corporation, which provides of streaming financial market data, news, analytics and decision support tools.

This new service provides tick-by-tick quotes from more than 75 global markets, streaming charts and market depth, including NASDAQ Level II. Users will have access to extensive company information by right clicking on any symbol, which yields company profiles, bulletin boards, insider trades, SEC filings, market advisors and annual reports. A free, 30-day trial CBS MarketWatch LIVE is currently available, after which MarketWatch will charge users $14.95 per month, plus exchange fees and fees for any add-on services. No software download required is required, and the product is Wi-Fi (Wireless Internet) compatible. For an additional fee, MarketWatch is offering a portable companion product called QuoTrek, a wireless quote and market information service for mobile devices, including RIM BlackBerry, Microsoft PocketPC and Palm.
