Newspaper Monthly 'Relish' Sees Huge Ad Hike

Recession, what recession? Newspaper food magazine Relish, published by the Publishers Group of America, will increase circulation from 12 million to 15 million in January 2009 issue and add a 13th issue.

Ad revenues at Relish are about $62.3 million, up more than 80% from last year. Ad pages are up 29.4% for the first half of 2008 compared to the same period last year, per PIB.

"Relishhas been a rocket that has resonated with advertisers, publishers and readers," says publisher Tracy Altman. Relish launched in February 2006 and has increased circulation by 3 million each year. Late last year, Bain Capital Ventures and the Shamrock Capital Growth Fund acquired it.
