Katie Couric's "CBS Evening News" is doing somewhat better, after two years of bad ratings. Though still in third behind NBC and ABC, Couric's average viewership is up: 7.4 million watched her last
week, better than any week since February 2007. That makes four straight weeks where her audience was bigger than at the same point last year, according to Nielsen Media Research. What helped her was
the Sarah Palin interviewws; Palin's fumbles kicked off Tina Fey's "Saturday Night Live" parodies and gave Couric positive feedback.
