Spanish-language network Univision has cut a deal with Disney-ABC International Television Latin America for the production of the Alphabet Network's "Desperate Housewives" series aimed at Spanish-speaking viewers in the U.S. The program, to be called "Amas de Casa Desesperadas" will aired next season in prime time on Univision. An Argentine company will produce it, but the format and script will follow the original, just "adapted to the preferences of U.S. Hispanics," Univision says.

FCC Chairman Kevin Martin, along with Commissioner Deborah Taylor Tate concurring, say the agency may have to place some additional restrictions on TV food advertising to kids -- bars which could limit or eliminate such ads -- if the industry can't figure out self-regulation.
