ABC.com Revamps Site

  • October 13, 2000
Whether you are addicted to “Who Wants to be a Millionaire,” “Drew Carey,” “Dharma and Greg,” “Once and Again,” “The Practice” or are anticipating “Gideon's Crossing,” “The Geena Davis Show,” or want to see how Charlie Sheen does on “Spin City,” ABC.com will enhance the TV viewing experience with a new site that offers more features and is easier to use.

Starting today, ABC.com will transform the online experience with a design that integrates ABC Network programming with online activities. The homepage will now feature four main areas, which represent ABC Primetime, ABC Daytime, ABC News and ABC Sports, creating the first “ABC Network” online. ABC.com will also deliver sites for the new ABC shows.

The new ABC.com offers much more for the “Millionaire” fan, as well, as it will deliver a re-designed “Millionaire Game” and new features including: “Backstage Pass,” which will stream video clips featuring a behind-the-scenes look at the contestant selection process; “Facts and Figures,” featuring fun facts about the show; “Polls,” asking visitors to share their opinions about the show; “Trivia Board,” enabling fans to post trivia questions on the message board to quiz each other; and “Hall of Fame,” featuring the show's big winners.

The re-designed ABC.com will also provide new advertising and marketing opportunities for partners. On the homepage ABC.com will feature the “Big Impression,” an ad box that is 30% larger than the standard ad banner with a different aspect ratio.
