Teen Magazine Publishes GO! Girls Online Internet Guide

Teen Magazine has published a 16-page magazine to help its readers better understand the Internet and find sites with the best in teen trends, celebrities, fashion and beauty. GO! Girls Online, bound into full run copies of Teen's November issue (on sale this week), is printed on a heavier, matte stock than Teen and perforated for portability and collectability. Advertiser reaction has been positive enough for Teen to begin working on a second issue scheduled for April of 2001. Reader reaction will be measured to determine if the guide might work as a stand-alone brand extension of Teen. Teen Magazine accepted only six sponsors for GO! Girls Online: M2card; TeenFX.com; Neutrogena; Musicland/samgoody.com; Bonne Bell; and Focus Dailies. Sponsors receive additional exposure on teenmag.com with a section featuring content customized to each advertiser's product and hotlinked to each advertiser's website. Moreover, sponsors receive exposure in a special e-gift giving section in Teen's December issue that will highlight products and provide gift-giving ideas to teenage girls. Reprints of the section will be distributed at grassroots events as they were at Teen's exclusive Girls Rule! Fashion show at New York's "7th on 6th" Fall Show in September.
