United Airlines' Twitter account was one of several hacked last week.

Hackers are distributing sex-related tweets and direct messages to other Twitter users. Hackers sent one message via Chicago-based United that included an offer for "better sex" and a link to a Web site.

United quickly deleted the message and then tweeted an apology to its nearly 57,000 followers. "We're taking steps to make sure it doesn't happen again," said United spokeswoman Robin Urbanski.--Tanya Irwin
