YuMe has hired a half dozen former top executives including founder Frank Barbieri from mobile video ad firm Transpera, acquired last month by YuMe rival Tremor Media. The move is meant to accelerate YuMe's push into mobile video advertising.

Besides Barbieri, who will serve as head of emerging platforms, the new YuMe hires include Anshu Dua, who will lead business development for mobile; Tripp Boyle, senior director, mobile sales; and Sachin Gupta, principal engineer. YuMe last November extended its ACE video ad platform to mobile operating systems including Apple iOS, RIM, Symbian and Android.
