NBC News May Return to Radio

The Westwood One radio network has long held the radio rights for NBC News, even though it has not offered any programming under the NBC banner in years. Westwood One CEO Joel Hollander confirms that they may change. “We’re working with them closely on some new distribution things,” he revealed on the company’s quarterly conference call with Wall Street on Tuesday. Westwood already offers radio news products with the CBS and Fox News brands. Earlier this week Westwood One it would start offering radio stations business news under the CNBC brand name. “The appetite for business news is very large,” said Hollander, predicting the network will have between 25 and 50 affiliates for the “CNBC Radio Business Report,” which debuts March 31.
