The Cable Center announced Thursday the 2003 Inductees to the Cable Television Hall of Fame, an honor bestowed annually to men and women whose achievements have provided service to the cable industry
and contributed significantly to cable's growth and development and to the people, communities and organizations served by cable TV. This year's class includes seven industry luminaries who made
lasting contributions to cable telecommunications: Julian A. Brodsky of Comcast Corp.; Gustave M. Hauser of Hauser Communications; John S. Hendricks, president and CEO of Discovery Communications;
Robert L. Johnson, president and CEO of BET Holdings, Inc.; Walter Kaitz, founder of the California Cable Television Association; John J. Sie, founder, president and CEO of Starz/Encore Group; and
Robert J. Tarlton, formerly of Jerrold Electronics and the founder of one of the country's first cable systems. The Hall of Fame selection committee is appointed by The Cable Center's board of
directors and comprised of a number of the leading men and women of the cable industry. Chairing this year's selection committee was Alan Gerry, chairman and CEO, Granite Associates LP.
