Discovery, John Deere Form Sales Partnership

Discovery Home & Leisure Channel announced Wednesday afternoon its first advertising sales partnership with John Deere in conjunction with the network's new series, Backyard Brigade. The partnership, which lasts through 2004, also includes exposure across Discovery Wings Channel, The Science Channel, Discovery Times Channel and the Discovery Channel. "This partnership proves that our emerging networks are a growing presence in television," said Joe Abruzzese, president, advertising sales, Discovery Networks U.S. "It also shows the commitment we've made to provide our viewers with high-quality programming that also allows our advertisers to target niche customers." Elements of the partnership include cross-promotional tune-in spots as well as product integration opportunities within Backyard Brigade. Promotional spots for the show will appear on television monitors in John Deere dealerships throughout the country.
