MSNBC.com Expands Entertainment Section

MSNBC.com has expanded Entertainment section. Formerly known as the Living section, the newly launched Entertainment section includes coverage of television, books, art, music, travel and entertainment news. The new team includes entertainment editor Denise Hazlick, entertainment reporter Gael Fashingbauer Cooper, who will cover pop culture, television, books and the Web, and travel editor Paige Newman, who will also cover movies. MSNBC.com also announced the launch of "Test Pattern," a new Weblog by Cooper (www.testpattern.msnbc.com). "Test Pattern" will cover everything from the unreality of reality TV to bizarre celebrity Web sites digging into the fun and freaky side of pop culture, TV and the Web. Cooper was one of the first newspaper journalists to launch a Weblog and the New York Times calls her work one of the best online pop culture resources. MSNBC.com's popular entertainment news column, "Jeannette Walls Delivers The Scoop" (www.scoop.msnbc.com) will feature a new HTML newsletter. Recognized as the leading online gossip columnist, Jeannette Walls has covered entertainment news for MSNBC.com for six years.
