Sony Mobile Communications has introduced the latest form of communication, the SmartWatch, that connects with Android-powered devices to bring information directly to a user’s wrist.
Using a Bluetooth connection, the SmartWatch gives wearers access to certain key functions on their phones (such as incoming call alerts, read texts and emails and receive Facebook and Twitter updates, as well as display time. Consumers can also download apps that are customized to work on the 1.3-inch touchscreen.
"SmartWatch is the first of many Smart Extras that seamlessly connect and expand the smartphone's reach and user experience," said Paul Hamnett, president and head of customer unit, North America, Sony Mobile Communications, in a release. "Designed to break free from the single screen experience, SmartWatch provides access to live content and entertainment on the go."
