EmailLabs Implements New Sender Authentication Protocol

EmailLabs, provider of email marketing automation services, on Tuesday said that it implemented the Sender Policy Framework (SPF), the email marketing industry's new sender authentication protocol. The SPF protocol requires the authorization of mail servers permitted to send email on the domains' behalf. Using the established Domain Name System (DNS) framework, SPF records can specify authorized email sources. Receiving mail servers scan the records during SMTP transactions, the current email delivery protocol, to ensure that the IP address of the sender is authorized to send email for a specific domain. SPF was designed to help facilitate legitimate email delivery by ensuring accountability.
