Microsoft to Power Email For All New York State Government Emails

New York State and Microsoft have forged an agreement under which the multiple email platforms used by various state agencies will be merged into one by the end of this year. The goal of the partnership is to streamline the email communications of all state employees, which are currently operating from 27 different email systems. Once the integration is complete, all New York state agencies will be using Microsoft 365, which includes a cloud function. "Transforming the State’s IT infrastructure and sourcing is critical to operating an efficient government that provides accurate and timely services to New Yorkers," stated Governor Andrew Cuomo in the press release.
