Moves At Horizon Media

Independent media shop Horizon Media is promoting one of its long-time staffers, and has hired a new one for its New York office.

Eric Blankfein has been promoted to senior vice president, director of communication channel planning from vice president, director of media planning. Blankfein, who's been with Horizon for five years, will continue to supervise media planning strategy and development serviced out of the New York office.

As for the new hire, Jayne McMahon has joined the agency as senior vice president, director of local broadcast, New York.

McMahon is a 20-plus-year media industry veteran who returns to her native New York and to the media buying side of the business after a hiatus that included three years in TV and radio sales and a freelance position as a TV group manager in Horizon's L.A. office. McMahon replaces Lourdes Marquez, Horizon's long-time senior vice president, director of local broadcast, Horizon Orlando, who moved to Orlando to launch Horizon's new office.

In this role, McMahon will oversee the New York local buying staff and will coordinate operations with Marquez and Christi Cicerelli, vice president, director of local broadcast, Los Angeles.

As for Blankfein, he joined Horizon Media as vice president, director of media planning from Grace & Rothschild Advertising where he was media director. Prior to that, Eric was a partner at Bozell Worldwide in New York. His varied background includes work with numerous Fortune 500 clients like Merrill Lynch, Bausch & Lomb, and Marsh & McClennan Companies Inc.
