Horizon Goes Outside For Out-Of-Home Chief

Former MindShare Associate Director Sharon Hatch has signed on with Horizon Media to head up media buying and planning for the independent New York shop's out-of-home operation. Hatch, a 15-year media veteran, will serve as vice president, director of Horizon Out-of-Home. She has played a significant role at MindShare's WOW Factory--the WPP Group agency's non-traditional media unit--since its inception, a Horizon spokesman noted. At the WOW Factory, where Hatch was most recently a senior partner and associate director, she was responsible for supervising 38 out-of-home media specialists on all of the agency's accounts. Hatch also held the position of senior partner, group planning director, in which she managed all day-to-day non-traditional media strategic planning and implementation for such clients as IBM, Kimberly Clark, Gillette, and Burger King. Before MindShare, Hatch was partner, associate planning director at its WPP creative sister agency Ogilvy & Mather, where she worked on American Express' global business. --David Kaplan
