A Third Of MP3 Users Downloading Podcasts

  • April 5, 2005
Nearly one in three--29 percent--of the 22 million plus U.S. adults who own iPods or MP3 players have downloaded podcasts from the Internet, according to a recent report of the Pew Internet & American Life Project. The report, based on a telephone survey of 2,201 adults, found an age gap among podcasters, but no gender gap. Almost half of those between the ages of 18 and 28 who own iPods or MP3 players report downloading podcasts, compared to about one in five of owners of the devices over age 29. But there was no notable difference between men and women when it came to podcasting. -- W.D.
