Goodby, Silverstein & Partners Wednesday won the $100,000 grand prize in the radio industry's 2005 Mercury Awards. The winning campaign, a radio spot dubbed "Abbreviated," was created by the San
Francisco agency for eBay. This year's Mercury Awards marked the debut of a 30-second spot category (the :60 is still the radio industry's standard ad unit), which was won by Zimmer Radio Group for a
spot developed for Alert One Pest Control. Fallon New York and Modernista! each won their first Mercury awards, for a Virgin Mobile and General Motors' Hummer campaign, respectively. Other 2005
winners include: Arnold Worldwide for an American Legacy Foundation commercial; Crispin Porter + Bogusky for a spot developed for Molson; DDB Chicago for an Anheuser-Busch commercial; DeVito/Verdi
with a commercial for the National Thoroughbred Association; The Richards Group with a Motel 6 spot; World Wide Wadio for a commercial created for TBS; and Y&R Chicago for a Miller Brewing Co. spot.
