Krochmal Named New Digital Director, 'Entertainment Weekly'

Meredith Corporation’s Entertainment Weekly has appointed Shana Naomi Krochmal to the role of digital director at the magazine.

Krochmal now reports to Will Lee, senior vice president of digital at Entertainment Group, Meredith Corporation. She will work closely with EW EIC Henry Goldblatt, along with Meredith’s digital team.

Krochmal is based in Entertainment Weekly’s Los Angeles and office and began her new role July 30. 

As digital director, she will lead the magazine’s digital team and oversee the brand’s digital content and programming strategy across all platforms. 

Prior to joining Entertainment Weekly, Krochmal spent four years at Entertainment Tonight Online as its editor in chief. During her tenure, Krochmal led a team of more than 50 employees across video, editorial and social media.

Through her leadership, ETO became a top-tier digital video and news outlet operating 24 hours a day. It ranks among the top three sites for entertainment news. 

She also worked at Out as a contributing editor and was a supervising producer at Al Jazeera America and Current TV. 

Speaking of Krochmal's past accomplishments, Lee stated that Entertainment Weekly was “fortunate” to have the expertise of a digital news veteran. 

Entertainment Weekly was launched in 1990 and has a combined audience of 28 million readers across platforms with a print circulation of 1.5 million.
