WSJ Insists Google Steers Searchers To YouTube

The argument has festered for years. Does Google favors YouTube in its search results when people type in queries for one thing or another? Yes, say reporters at The Wall Street Journal. They report that engineers at Google have made changes showing a preference for YouTube over other video sources. Google executives made a decision to serve videos from YouTube on the first page of search results, in part to drive traffic to the platform rather than to competitors, and give YouTube more leverage in business deals with content providers seeking traffic.
